Swedish Project To Apply Digital Twins For Maritime Sustainability

111

A group of maritime stakeholders in Sweden has launched a project to apply digital tools to support improvements in shipping sustainability, led by Gothenburg-based technology company Cetasol.

Aims

The initiative aims to demonstrate and validate a system using data-based digital twins for commercial marine operations in collaboration with industry stakeholders, with the aim of exploring the potential use of such models to drive long-term emission reductions through the installation of electrical or alternative fuel drivelines and predictive maintenance.

Participating stakeholders in the project include CAISR and RISE as research partners, Quoakka as the development partner, Trafikverket as the operational owner, Erik Thun and Stena Line as ship owners, and Profjord as the design company.
