Swire Projects Introduces Panama Canal-Alternative Transpacific Service

149

Swire Projects, the heavy-lift subsidiary of Swire Shipping, has responded to shippers’ concerns over Panama Canal delays by launching a dedicated transpacific semi-liner service. The move comes as low water levels in the canal, leading to restrictions and surcharges, prompt shippers to explore alternative routes for cost and time savings.

Swire’s Transpacific Semi-Liner Service

Swire’s newly launched service connects Chinese base ports, including Qingdao and Taicang, with Everett, Washington, and Vancouver, British Columbia. By avoiding the Panama Canal and making stops at the US West Coast, the service aims to provide a more reliable option for breakbulk and project cargo transport, meeting the growing demand for such services on the West Coast.
