Tanker collides with Brunsbuttel Lock Wall

The collision is reported to have caused minor damage to the lock wall, and no injuries or pollution have been reported in the incident.

The incident occurred on May 5th at around 1:25 PM local time. The vessel was sailing from Kiel to Hamburg when it allided with a wall on the new southern lock in Brunsbüttel as it was traversing the Kiel Canal.

The wall of the lock is said to have sustained minor damage, and the vessel itself suffered scraped paint. Fortunately, the damage was minor, and there were no reports of any injuries, pollution, or water ingress on the vessel.

The Brunsbüttel water police have launched an investigation into the incident.
