Tanker and Cargo Ship Collide Near Istanbul

On July 5, a tanker and a cargo ship collided in the west of Sivriada island in Istanbul, Turkey.

What happened?

The tanker ‘Gammagas’ and the cargo ship ‘Ersoylar 1’ were enroute to their respective destination when they collided about 10 miles west of Sivriada island in Istanbul, Turkey.

The maritime rescue centre was alerted about the incident, who in turn dispatched the coastal police from Bursa and Istanbul to the accident area.

Minor damages

Fortunately, none of the crew members onboard the vessel were injured during the incident. However, due to the impact of the collision small cracks appeared on the hull of the two vessels.
