A Sandy Hook Pilots Association captain died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a fall while boarding a vessel, reports Marine Pilots.
Fall from pilot ladder
Timothy M. Murray had been piloting vessels in and out of the Port of New York and New Jersey for more than eight years.
Murray reportedly fell from a pilot ladder while boarding a tanker inbound to the port at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was evacuated to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the accident.
Murray is survived by his wife and five children. The Marine-Pilots.com team is with the family and loved ones of Captain Timothy M. Murray.
