On July 16, a fire reportedly broke out in a tanker named ‘Sea Dragon’ which was docked at the anchorage in Aden, Yemen.
What happened?
The fire is said to have originated in the superstructure of the tanker which was was docked at Brega anchorage, Aden, Yemen.
Vessel abandoned:
The crew members onboard the vessel have reportedly abandoned the tanker when the fire erupted in the superstructure. The crew members abandoned the vessel with the help of local boats.
The Tanker belongs to a local businessman, who is believed to monopolize Aden oil supplies.
Currently, no one has been dispatched to fight the fire aboard the tanker. The Tanker is said to be in ballast, anchored, looking like she’s in a lay-up position. No additional information is available at the moment.
