Tanker Crew Tied Up and Robbed at Gunpoint

A tanker has reportedly been hijacked around 24nm West of Pulau Jemaja, Indonesia.

What happened?

It is reported that six persons armed with guns boarded a tanker using a rope.

The pirates reportedly tied up the crew and threatened them with their weapons. In addition, the pirates stole ship’s cash and Masters personal belongings and escaped.

Investigation initiated:

The incident was reported to the CSO, who notified the authorities. The authorities have initiated investigation to determine the cause of hijacking and to know where the pirates originated from.
