Date: 27th June 2015.
Location: Dardanelles Strait near Gallipoli, Turkey.
Vessels Involved: Marshall Islands-flagged MT STI Pimlico collided with the Celestyal cruise ship Celestyal Crystal.
Casualties: None.
Damage- The Cruise ship suffered minor damage to its bow. The tanker spilled Naphtha from one of its cargo tanks.
Repairs needed: Besiktas Shipyard has said that the repairs will include
- The replacement of steel, blasting and painting of affected ballast/cargo tanks,
- Renewal of damaged main deck outfitting,
- Electrical systems and
- Piping.
