According to a recent Ship & Bunker article, a shipowner and two seafarers of a tanker were held by the Italian authorities investigating a collision at sea last year.
About the incident
The tanker was reported to have collided with a fishing vessel resulting in the loss of three lives.
It is alleged that the ship had visibility of the fishing vessel before the incident and stayed on course after the collision had happened.
Arrests
The three men under custody are being accused of procedural fraud. According to reports, the shipowner is being held under house arrest.
