On Sep 21, a product tanker HAI AN 16 suffered explosion in a pump room and consequent fire. The incident reportedly happened while offloading cargo of gasoline at Hai Phong port, Vietnam.
Three crew were reportedly injured from the explosion but were out of danger. The rescue team responded to the incident and moved the tanker to anchorage. Latest reports indicate that the fire was extinguished and authorities are busy working out a plan to offload some 4000 tons of gasoline from the affected tanker.
