Tanker and LPG Ship Values Keep Retreating in September

Tanker values have continued to soften throughout September across all vessel types.  This table shows the monthly % change from 1st to the 30th September 2016 for the main tanker vessel types, of different years of build.

VLCC

Values have softened by a small amount.  No sales have taken place this month however values have softened in line with the market sentiment.  The TD3$+1CAL has dropped from 8.47 $/mt to 7.87 $/mt over September 2016.

LR1

Values have softened consistently throughout the month.  Spot rates have softened over the course of September 2016.

MR2

Values have remained relatively stable with a small softening.  5 sales have been concluded. Blue Lines Shipping has offloaded 2 MR2 tankers to Tristar Transport, the BLS Liwa and BLS Ruwais (47,100 DWT, 2008, Hyundai Mipo) both selling for USD 19 mil, VV value USD 19.29 mil on 22/09/16.  The MR2 Nord Observer (47,300 DWT, 2007, Onomichi Dockyard) sold for USD 14.3 mil, VV value USD 15.78 mil.

LPG

Modern large vessels and older small LPGs have softened slightly while all others have firmed moderately.  This table shows the monthly % change from 1st to the 30th September 2016 for the main LPG vessel types, of different years of build.

VLGC

Values remain steady, although we have seen a firming in the rates.  No sales have taken place this month.

Fully Pressurised

Values have fallen over the month. 1 sale has been concluded. Lady Shana (3,516 CBM, 2001, Shitanoe Zosen) sold for USD 5 mil, VV value USD 5.42 mil.
