Master of product tanker in need of immediate medical assistance declared dead, reports Maritime Bulletin.
What happened?
According to reports, master of product tanker GOGLAND was in need of immediate medical assistance, as he was unconscious and had no detectable pulse on Oct 30.
The ship was off Vigo, Spain, Atlantic, en route from Tallinn Estonia to Ravenna Italy.
Rendezvous was appointed and the tanker approached Spanish coast 90 nm west of Vigo mouth. Master was airlifted by Spanish CG helicopter and taken to Vigo airport. There on arrival, he was declared dead, regretfully.
