The search for the missing Indonesian tanker seems to be getting murkier each day as authorities are still not able to locate it.
What happened?
On January 7, the Indonesian tanker ‘Namse Bangdzod’ was reported missing by Indonesian Maritime Authorities after they were not able to trace its track. According to tanker data, the vessel was reported to have reached Jakarta anchor but in reality, the tanker failed to turn up.
Mystery deepens
There were 11 crew members onboard the vessel and loaded with palm oil when it was reported missing. The tanker is still missing, with no traces of disaster, or oil leaks, found along her scheduled route from southern Kalimantan to Jakarta.
Lost contact
The Surabaya Shipping Lines lost contact with the tanker on 28 December 2018 and a large-scale search across Java sea did not yield any results. These circumstances have left the authorities baffled.
