Ship traffic in Istanbul’s Bosphorus Strait was suspended on Sunday in both directions due to a rudder failure on a 114-metre tanker, the Nazann, reports Reuters quoting the Transportation Ministry.

As reported, the vessel was en route from Russia to Kocaeli in Turkey and faced mechanical problems in the strait. Tugboats helped anchor the tanker safely at Ahirkapi. Local news reported that northbound traffic resumed in the strait on the same day.
