Testing complete:

Techcross, the Korean manufacturer of full-flow electrolysis ElectroCleen ballast water management system, has reported that it has completed testing for its US Coast Guard (USCG) type approval.

USCG approval granted:

The company appointed the Korean Register as its independent laboratory to conduct testing for USCG approval in September 2015. It noted that testing protocols for US approval are more onerous than those for IMO type approval, with five consecutive successful tests required for each salinity in both land- and ship-based tests.

First manufacturer to complete training:

Techcross reports that it is the first Korean manufacturer to complete USCG testing, despite entering the process relatively late.

After completing testing, the company said that KR will prepare and review testing reports before submitting them to the US Coast Guard.
