Telemar, a company under the Marlink Group, has integrated its digital remote access technology to fortify the fleet operations of the leading shipping entity, NSB GROUP. This collaboration was inaugurated after a meticulous phase of testing and assessment.

Meticulous Collaboration

In a contract spanning two years, Telemar pledges to extend its shore-based maintenance services to NSB. This includes a remote service coordination tailored to troubleshooting and diagnostic processes. The agreement incorporates a vast range of equipment such as annual VDR (Voyage Data Recorder) performance tests, radar inspections, GMDSS, handheld radio maintenance, and more. One of the pivotal elements of this collaboration is Telemar World Service 4.0 (TWS), an online tool designed to manage service schedules for the NSB fleet. With this tool, service intervals become transparent and vessel availability is optimized. By adopting this systematic maintenance approach, NSB is now equipped to enhance the predictability quotient in its vessel operations. The machines included in this pact play a pivotal role in not only ensuring navigational safety but also in streamlining shipping operations.

An Instrumental Partnership

As of now, NSB GROUP boasts a management system overseeing approximately 50 vessels and employs 1,700 maritime personnel. The company also has a Maritime Training Center equipped with a cutting-edge ship-handling simulator. Furthermore, NSB has supervised the construction of over 160 vessels and currently oversees eleven new-building initiatives in China. Selvam Panneer, NSB GROUP’s Chief Operating Officer, emphasized the company’s commitment to offering top-tier ship management experiences on a global scale. This partnership with Telemar, he believes, is instrumental in ensuring NSB’s assets remain in prime condition and adhere to compliance mandates.
