FAIRPLAY-92, FAIRPLAY-95, and FAIRPLAY-96 have docked in Rotterdam—a trio of newly constructed harbor tugs, meticulously designed by the DAMEN Shipyard Group.
Advanced Maneuverability On The River Elbe
FAIRPLAY-92 is an 81-ton bollard pull Harbour Tug in ASD Design – Model DAMEN 2813. She will be operating in the Port of Rotterdam after the final takeover and reflagging under the flag of Madeira. This is expected to be completed by December 19th, 2023.
FAIRPLAY 95 and FAIRPLAY-96 are the latest developments of the DAMEN Shipyard Group. Both tugs are so-called RSD tugs with TwinFin mounted under the bow and the two Kongsberg Thruster units operating under the stern of the tug. This design stands for the best maneuverability of tugs available on the market. FAIRPLAY-95 and FAIRPLAY-96 will be operating on the River Elbe in Germany.
Silent Prowess And Precision Construction
Needless to say, all tugs are FiFi 1 compatible and ready to operate in LNG Terminals. These tugs are also classed as Comfort Noise Class 3, which means very low noise and vibration emission in the accommodation block.
All tugs have been built in the DAMEN Shipyard Song Cam in Hai Phong Vietnam. During the production of the tugs, a team of FAIRPLAY Supervisors has been on site to monitor all phases of the construction and final outfitting until the sea trials, which have been done in Ha Long Bay Vietnam.
After off-loading the tugs will be prepared by the DAMEN Shipyards before the final checks will be made on December 18th and 19th. Thereafter, the tugs will be registered and reflagged before being commissioned, bunkered, and equipped with the towing gear, provision, and stores. Subesequently, familiarization of the joining crews will be done by both the DAMEN Team and our Newbuilding department. We expect all tugs to be in Service at the latest after Christmas 2023.
