Three Crew Died Cleansing Cargo Tank

According to a recent Maritime Bulletin report, three crew members died while cleansing cargo tank of a tanker.

What happened?

According to reports, three crew of tanker ANDRINA 200 died of suffocation in a cargo tank, on Aug 10, at Calaca, Batangas, southwest Luzon, Philippines. 

While cleansing the cargo tank they inhaled fumes from cargo residues on the bottom of the tank. 

After some time, they lost consciousness and were later recovered by other crew. 

They were sent to a nearby hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.
