Total Adds NYK Line’s LNG Adventure

  • Total has expanded its fleet with the addition of NYK Line’s liquefied natural gas carrier LNG Adventure.
  • The vessel capable of 174,000 cubic meters of the chilled fuel has been built by the South Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries.

According to an article published in Offshore Energy, French energy major Total has expanded its fleet with the addition of NYK Line’s liquefied natural gas carrier LNG Adventure.

Chartered Vessel

Total chartered the vessel from France LNG Shipping, a joint venture consisting of Japanese shipping giant NYK and Geogas LNG, a company controlled by LPG shipper Geogas and European infrastructure funds ACP and DIF.

Vessel Features

LNG Adventure features WinGD X-DF engines and Air Liquide Turbo-Brayton subcooler system for natural boil-off gas reliquefaction.

The vessel also features GTT Mark III Flex containment system.

Sea & Gas Trials

Earlier in March the vessel completed its sea and gas trials since departing the AIS data provided by VesselsValue shows it is currently on its way to Panama.

Second Largest Private LNG Player

Total is the world’s second-largest privately owned LNG player, with a global portfolio of nearly 50 Mtpa by 2025 and a global market share of around 10 per cent.
