TotalEnergies set to expand global LNG bunkering network, reports LNG Industry.

Background

TotalEnergies Marine Fuels will initiate its LNG bunkering services in Singapore. A ship naming ceremony of the Brassavola LNG bunker vessel was held at Sembcorp Marine’s Tuas Boulevard Yard.

This ship will be the largest LNG bunker vessel for use in service in the Port of Singapore. It is 116.5 m in length and 22 m in width with a capacity of 12 000 m3. The Brassavola is scheduled to be functional in 1Q23.

Key points

TotalEnergies has vigorously invested in LNG bunkering infrastructure, crucial to helping its shipping customers’ decarbonisation goal through the uptake of LNG as a marine fuel.

Since November 2020, TotalEnergies’ LNG bunkering operations, Gas Agility and Gas Vitality have performed approximately 120 LNG bunkering operations in total.

The Brassavola

The Brassavola is owned by Indah Singa Maritime Pte. Ltd., which is a subsidiary of MOL and will be chartered by Pavilion LNG Bunker I Pte. Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pavilion Energy.

Under a long-term agreement with Pavilion Energy, TotalEnergies Marine Fuels will allocate Brassavola to supply LNG bunkers to its customers.

This latest milestone strengthens TotalEnergies’ purpose to formulate a global LNG bunker supply network and the Company’s obligation to assist its shipping customers in their energy growth towards maritime decarbonisation.

The growth of LNG as a marine fuel is part of TotalEnergies’ wide-ranging, long-term efforts to improve multiple alternatives, lower- and zero-carbon solutions.
