On September 12, a tow boat fire was reported on the Mississippi River, between east Arkansas and northeastern Mississippi.
What happened?
The tow boat ‘Jacob Kyle Rusthoven’ reportedly caught fire on a 10-mile stretch of the Mississippi River, between east Arkansas and northeastern Mississippi. Around 13,300 gallons of fuel was reported to be aboard the vessel.
U.S. Coast Guard alerted
The U.S. Coast Guard were alerted about the incident and they rushed to the scene of the incident.
The firefighters with the help of towing boat pushed the vessel to the Arkansas river bank where firefighting efforts continued.
Crew safe
The crew members onboard the vessel were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard and are reported to be safe.
The maritime officials assured that no pollution to the environment was ensured. An investigation has been initiated to determine the reason for fire and to facilitate the obvious course of action.
