TT Club and UK P&I Host Webinar on Containership Casualties

1160

Industry losses amount to roughly one unit per 160,000 carried, says a press release published by TT Club and UK P&I.

Loss for stakeholders

Each loss has significance to a range of stakeholders, including the ship operators, cargo interests, insurers, environmental groups, etc.

Webinar to discuss cargo integrity

This webinar will explore the complex range of ‘moving parts’ in container ship operations. TT Club was intensively involved in working on the SOLAS VGM regulations in 2016 and is currently campaigning for cargo integrity.

Such cargo-specific matters inevitably interact with shore and ship-based processes related to stowage planning, that themselves link to issues of physical lashing, operational decisions, and other maritime vagaries.

What steps the industry can take to protect all interests?

Using Competent Authority reports into recent incidents, the webinar panel will debate what steps the industry can take to protect all interests. The panel will comprise Peregrine Storrs-Fox, TT Club’s risk management director, Stuart Edmonston, loss prevention director at UK P&I Club, Tom Starr, the Club’s senior claims director, and Neil Gardiner, managing master mariner at Brookes Bell.
