On Dec 21, around 9 a.m. the general cargo ship “BBC Kibo” collided with a tug when entering Porto Alegro, Brazil.
The disabled tug tried hard to start the engine and failed hence got literally pinned on freighter’s bulbous bow. It was hit at starboard side and pushed across the harbour before the cargo ship could slow down.
The accident is under investigation. No information on damages, though there should be some. No injuries were reported and It’s not clear on what caused the accident, looks like tug could be the main culprit.
