COSCO (China Ocean Shipping Company) and China Shipping Group Company, two of the biggest shipping companies of China are negotiating a merger. If all the assets of both companies are included, the value of the new entity would be 80 Billion. If the merger is limited to only container shipping operations, the merger would be between 10 to 20 Billion.

When merged this entity would be the World’s 4th largest container shipping line. The merger could include commodities shipping, port and logistic operations and oil tanker operation.
