Two cracks have been reportedly spotted on vessel’s upper deck in ballast tank area.
What happened?
The Korean authorities and owner of VLOC STELLAR QUEEN have confirmed the news, that there were two cracks on vessel’s upper deck in ballast tank area.
Cracks spotted:
In a photo released by the company, water can be seen leaking from the cracks and the cracks were found to be of 2.5 and 1.5 meters length.
Vessel was en route from China to Brazil, changing water in ballast tanks, when cracks were found, due to water leakage. It happened in high seas before arrival to Brazil.
Vessel to be surveyed:
Currently, vessel is docked at Sao Luis. A Surveyor has been sent to Brazil, to check condition of the vessel and decide, whether she’s safe for further exploitation.
