The footage shows the Yarmouth RNLI all-weather lifeboat team rescuing the 22ft White Osbeat and its two passengers.
The yacht was sailing off Hengistbury Heading north west of the Needles in the bay off the Dorset coast. Suddenly it faced a serious rigging failure. The weather was hard with heavy swell and the south westerly wind gusting at 35 knots. The visibility was poor. The yatch members raised an alarm that was swiftly responded by the Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat team. The lifeboat towed the yacht to safety without even a small injury.
Watch the two hour rescue effort in two minutes.
