U-Ming Marine Transport Corporation is advancing its digital transformation and commitment to sustainable development by strengthening information security. With support from Information Security Service Digital United Inc. (ISSDU), U-Ming has achieved the latest ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 27032:2023 certifications. The company also meets Taiwan’s CNS 27001:2023 national standard, demonstrating strong cybersecurity resilience and global compliance. President C.K. Ong highlighted that, amid rapid internet growth and evolving regulations, the maritime industry faces rising cybersecurity threats, prompting stricter security requirements worldwide, as per the report issued by the American Journal of Transportation.

Cybersecurity Standards and Environmental Focus

U-Ming Marine Transport Corporation has fully complied with all legal requirements and appointed a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) along with dedicated cybersecurity staff, following guidelines for publicly listed companies. The company has adopted the ISO 27001 and ISO 27032 frameworks, which cover key areas such as information security policies, risk assessments, access control, operational security, and internet security.

During the certification process, U-Ming thoroughly reviewed and improved its operations and security controls. This led to the establishment of a strong information security management system and the implementation of advanced cybersecurity measures, providing multi-layered protection for critical information assets of the company and its customers. These efforts have received recognition from external authorities.

Jeff Hsu, Vice Chairman of U-Ming, stated that achieving ISO 27001 and ISO 27032 certifications confirms the company’s compliance with international security standards. U-Ming will continue to enhance its cybersecurity practices through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle.
