The UK and EU are reported to have agreed a co-ordinated ban on insuring ships carrying Russian oil following EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s Statement that the 6thpackage of EU sanctions on Russia will include a ban on insurance and reinsurance of Russian ships by EU companies. The package also includes a ban on 90% of Russian oil imports by the end of 2022 and other previously announced measures.
