The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has received a report of a maritime incident occurring 72 nautical miles east-southeast of Djibouti, reports Safety4sea.
According to the report, the Master of a Merchant Vessel has reported an explosion in the water at a distance from the vessel. Fortunately, both the vessel and its crew have been reported as safe. Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
In light of this incident, UKMTO has issued an advisory for vessels in the region to transit with caution. They have also urged vessels to report any suspicious activity to the UKMTO immediately.
