Transforming Low Carbon Solutions
ExxonMobil has entered into an agreement to acquire Denbury Inc., a leading developer of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCS) solutions and enhanced oil recovery. This acquisition gives ExxonMobil ownership of the largest CO2 pipeline network in the U.S., spanning 1,300 miles and strategically located within a high-emission region. The acquisition aims to accelerate the deployment of ExxonMobil’s low-carbon projects, including CCS, hydrogen, ammonia, biofuels, and direct air capture. The combination of assets and capabilities has the potential to reduce emissions by over 100 million metric tons per year in the Gulf Coast region.
