Urea carrier suffered fire in engine room at 0715 WIB (UTC +7) Dec 1,  reportedly in load, reports Maritime Bulletin.

What happened?

Urea carrier suffered fire in engine room at 0715 WIB (UTC +7) Dec 1, while leaving Cilacap port, southern Central Java, Indonesia, reportedly in load.

Tugs and firefight teams were deployed, of 26 crew 21 were evacuated by 1000 WIB, 5 remain on board to assist in firefighting.

Fire put under control

As of 1111 WIB, situation is unclear, fire reported to be under control, ship’s AIS 3 hours late, last position showed her moving towards oil terminal piers, escorted by tugs.
