V.Ships, a division of V.Group, has announced a partnership with REV Ocean. V.Ships will provide specialized ship management services for the REV Ocean, a cutting-edge research and expedition vessel, reports V Group.
Studying Marine Ecosystem
The REV Ocean research vessel, currently at Vard Søviknes, Norway, will be equipped with advanced technology to study the entire marine ecosystem. It will support research expeditions focused on addressing issues like CO2 emissions, plastic pollution, and unsustainable fishing.
The vessel will operate on diesel-electric engines, supplemented by a 3MW lithium-ion battery pack for increased efficiency.
V.Ships Norway will provide ship management support, leveraging its global reach and local expertise, particularly its strong ties with the Kjell Inge Røkke group and its knowledge of Norwegian Maritime Authority guidelines.
V.Ships Leisure will also manage the REV Ocean, which is also the world’s largest yacht, citing increased demand for their yacht management services from owners of very large yachts.
