Contract Overview
Vard, a leading designer and builder of specialized vessels, has secured a major contract with an international client for five Walk-to-Work vessels. These vessels are tailored to support offshore oil and gas platform operations, including supply, maintenance, and operational services.
The vessels will be constructed based on Vard’s 3 32 design, developed collaboratively with the customer. This proven design emphasizes low fuel consumption, high operability, and exceptional comfort for crew and technicians.
Key Features of the Walk-to-Work Vessels
The vessels will measure approximately 88 meters in length with a beam of 19.8 meters. They will feature a diesel/electric propulsion system integrated with battery-hybrid technology for enhanced energy efficiency and future adaptability. Each vessel will include a 3D motion-compensated gangway system and crane to ensure seamless offshore operations.
Accommodations will provide space for up to 190 people, ensuring comfort and excellent working conditions for crew and technicians. The vessels will prioritize versatility, with a focus on onboard logistics, large storage capacities, and operational efficiency.
Construction and Delivery Timeline
All five vessels will be constructed at Vard’s shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam. The first four are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2027, while the final unit is expected in the first quarter of 2028.
