A recent news article published in the Riviera states that Venture Global LNG inks 20-year SPA with Shell.
20-year sales and purchase agreement
Venture Global LNG has executed a 20-year sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with Shell NA LNG LLC for the supply of 2 mta of LNG from its Plaquemines LNG export facility
This deal builds on Shell’s existing contract for 2 mta from the Calcasieu Pass LNG export terminal, bringing Shell’s total long-term offtake from Venture Global’s facilities to 4 mta.
“Venture Global is honoured that Shell, our first foundational customer at Calcasieu Pass, has chosen to expand its existing co-operation with our company with a second partnership at Plaquemines,” said Venture Global chief executive Mike Sabel.
“Venture Global is committed to bringing low-cost US LNG online quickly, helping to keep the global market well supplied, while meeting our customers’ growing energy and climate goals.”
10-mta Calcasieu Pass LNG export facility
The 10-mta Calcasieu Pass LNG export facility at Cameron Parish, Louisiana began producing LNG in January. When fully developed, the Plaquemines LNG export facility in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, will produce 20 mta. It is scheduled to come online in 2024.
