Vessel Drifts Ashore Off Greece

1894

On Dec 17, a Passenger ro-ro ship ‘MAKEDONIA’ dragged anchor due to stormy weather in Selini Kinosoura waters, Gulf of Saronic, Greece and drifted ashore.

The unmanned vessel looked like a ship waiting for lay-up.

The fear of possible oil leak loomed high and maritime authorities fenced the ship off with booms.
