On Dec 1, 2017, the barge “Nina” allided with the Oude IJssel-Bridge in Zutphen.
As a precaution all train traffic between Zutphen, Dieren and Klarenbeek was stopped briefly. The ship was enroute from Rotterdam when the incident took place.
Rescue forces rushed to the scene and attended. Fortunately no one was reportedly injured. Inspectors of Prorail surveyed the bridge which was released for traffic again at 10.30 a.m. The barge which had lost its wheelhouse in the allision docked at a pier in Eefde.
