Vessel On Fire Off Brazil

Accident Type: Fire.
Location: Off the coast of Macae, Brazil
Vessel Name: Skandi Stolmen, a platform supply vessel.
Casualties: None.

On Wednesday, a vessel, Skandi Stolmen, operated by Norskan Offshore, a wholly owned subsidiary of Norway’s DOF, caught fire.  Sixteen crew members were on-board the vessel during the incident.  The local port authority with the help of nearby vessels rescued all the crew members safely.  The fire was extinguished in the early hours of Thursday.  The investigations are underway.

An official from the Macae port,  Fabio Riera, informed that there were no signs of environmental pollution.
