On March 4, a warning was issued by United States Coast Guard informing mariners to be on the lookout for containers which were lost at Sea.

What happened?

The Coastguard issued warning to other ships to be on the lookout for nearly 70 to 73 containers which were lost at Sea.

The containers fell into the sea from a cargo ship ‘Maersk Shanghai’ due to strong winds and rough seas when it was 17 miles off Oregon Inlet in North Carolina.

Warning issued

As soon as the containers fell into the sea, the Coast Guard was notified about the incident and they, in turn, issued a warning to all ships travelling through the area to be cautious and on the lookout for stray containers.
