VIKING Life-Saving Equipment and FAIN have entered into a global exclusive agreement, with VIKING designated as the certified service provider for marine firefighting systems supplied and installed by FAIN. This partnership enhances VIKING’s role in the marine fire services sector and positions the company to deliver high-quality services for FAIN’s firefighting solutions worldwide. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to improving safety in marine and offshore industries globally, reports Container News.

Scope of the Partnership

Under this exclusive partnership, VIKING will be responsible for the servicing, inspection, and maintenance of FAIN’s range of marine firefighting systems, which include CO2, foam, dry powder, water mist, and sprinkler systems. Based in Yangsan, South Korea, FAIN is a leading supplier to shipyards in the world’s three largest shipbuilding nations: China, Korea, and Japan.

VIKING’s Global Service Capability

VIKING’s Marine Fire Service technicians, certified through rigorous training at the VIKING Safety Academy in the Netherlands, are now authorized to service and maintain FAIN’s firefighting systems. This agreement expands VIKING’s global service network, allowing the company to also perform foam system conversions and provide critical support for FAIN’s customers worldwide.

Specialized Training and ‘Train-the-Trainer’ Program

The agreement was further strengthened by an advanced training course at FAIN’s headquarters, where VIKING’s Marine Fire Service trainers gained certification to deliver ‘train-the-trainer’ programs on FAIN’s behalf. This enables VIKING to support global training efforts and help crew members become familiar with FAIN’s fire safety systems.

Shared Vision for Marine Fire Safety

William Gielen, Global Service Director at VIKING, emphasized that this partnership underscores both companies’ commitment to delivering high-quality marine fire safety services. By combining VIKING’s service expertise and FAIN’s innovative firefighting systems, the collaboration seeks to enhance operational safety in marine and offshore operations worldwide.
