A new chapter begins for Viking’s ocean cruise fleet with the launch of Viking Mira at the Ancona shipyard in Italy. Slated for delivery in spring 2026, the vessel will operate cruises in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.

With its entry into the final outfitting stage, the launch ceremony was attended by key representatives from Viking and Fincantieri, marking a major milestone in the ship’s construction.

Viking Mira: A Small Ship with Grand Standards

Classified within the small cruise ship segment, Viking Mira boasts a gross tonnage of approximately 54,300 tons and will offer 499 luxurious staterooms for up to 998 passengers. As part of Viking’s commitment to high-quality, destination-focused cruising, the ship is being built to the latest international standards in safety, navigation, and environmental performance.

The vessel will feature high-efficiency engines and cutting-edge exhaust gas treatment systems to meet stringent environmental regulations, aligning with global efforts to promote sustainable maritime travel. Like all other ships in the Viking ocean fleet, Viking Mira is being fully constructed by Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups.
