Sales and purchase activity in the tanker sector is slowing down with prices appearing to finally have hit the wall as the summer is warming up the northern hemisphere, reports Splash247.
About the sales
Last week’s sales columns have been slim compared to previous weeks despite rates still being historically high.
Bokers note that overaged tankers now are difficult to offload with the market flooded with sales candidates and buyers can now grab ships comfortably at last done levels.
One ship widely reported sold belonged to Singapore-based MT Maritime, who is noted selling the Korean built, 52,000 dwt, MTM Potomac (2004) to undisclosed buyers for $18m, the same price as the sister ship sold in the last month, the MTM Hudson, now renamed Sage.
