Wallenius Wilhelmsen has strengthened its long-term commercial position by extending two major shipping contracts with leading European manufacturers. Together, the renewed deals carry an estimated additional value of close to $500 million, reinforcing the company’s stability and its role as a key logistics partner in the automotive and heavy-equipment sectors.

Major Extension with Premium European Automaker

The first extension involves a long-standing agreement with a prominent European automotive manufacturer. This contract has now been prolonged by three years, extending its duration until 2030.

  • Total estimated contract value: $580 million

  • Value of the extension portion: $384 million

The agreement includes additional cargo volumes and expanded trade lanes, reflecting the manufacturer’s continued reliance on Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s global network. Rates are aligned with current market levels, and the renewed contract officially began in October 2025.

This extension underscores the trust placed in the company’s operational capabilities and its ability to support major OEMs in maintaining reliable supply chains.

Two-Year Renewal with Heavy Equipment Manufacturer

The second deal involves an undisclosed European heavy-equipment producer and has been extended through 2028.

  • Total estimated value: $175 million

  • Extension portion: $114 million

Taking effect on December 1, 2025, the contract renewal supports continued collaboration in transporting oversized and specialized machinery cargo requiring high-quality handling and global logistics expertise.

Both agreements feature a multi-fuel Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF), allowing cost transparency and supporting efforts to reduce emissions by aligning bunker charges with environmental targets.

With nearly half a billion dollars in extended contract value, Wallenius Wilhelmsen has reinforced its position as a preferred logistics partner for Europe’s top manufacturers. These renewals highlight strong, longstanding relationships and shared commitments toward integrated, environmentally responsible supply chains. As the company continues to support global automotive and heavy-equipment industries, the new extensions mark a significant step in sustaining long-term growth and operational resilience.
