Wan Hai Lines held a significant ship naming ceremony on August 23rd for the vessel WAN HAI A17 at Samsung Heavy Industries’ Geoje shipyard. The event, marked by traditional christening rituals, was officiated by Wan Hai Lines’ Chairman, Mr. Po-Ting Chen, and Samsung Heavy Industries’ Vice Chairman & CEO, Mr. S.A. Choi. The ceremony underscored the company’s continued expansion in the shipping industry and its dedication to corporate social responsibility.

Wan Hai A17 – The Latest Addition to the Fleet 

WAN HAI A17 is the tenth vessel in Wan Hai Lines’ 13,100 TEU series, a line of state-of-the-art containerships designed for efficiency and environmental sustainability. The vessel is equipped with advanced engines featuring energy-saving and fuel-efficient technologies, certified with the “Smart Ship Notation” for enhanced safety and operational reliability.

Strengthening Market Competitiveness

The introduction of WAN HAI A17, set to join the Asia to East Coast of North America service (AA7) in late August, highlights Wan Hai Lines’ strategic expansion of its fleet.
