Vessel value and delivery

South korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries is scheduled to deliver the four 13,000 teu ships by second quarter of 2023. The deal also includes potential upgrades of the equipment on the vessels.
Upsizing of fleet
According to Wan Hai the new shipbuilding contract is the latest fleet upsizing plan to ensure the company’s vessels stay competitive and to support continuous market development.
In March this year, the company Taiwanese counterline Wan Hai had also ordered five 13,200 teu containerships at Hyundai Heavy Industries and are expected to start delivering in quarter one of 2023.
Currently Wan Hai operates a fleet of 83 owned and 62 chartered vessels.
