Technology group Wärtsilä has signed a ten-year Lifecycle Agreement with Hong Kong-based OPearl LNG Ship Management to support a fleet of 14 LNG carriers. The agreement focuses on enhancing operational reliability through flexible maintenance planning and optimised time between overhauls. This long-term collaboration reflects Wärtsilä’s continued commitment to supporting the growing global LNG sector, according to a release from Wärtsilä.
Under the new agreement, Wärtsilä will provide advanced maintenance solutions, predictive analytics, and round-the-clock operational support for OPearl’s LNG carrier fleet. The package includes Dynamic Maintenance Planning to extend service intervals, Expert Insight for AI-driven predictive maintenance, and comprehensive contract management.
By leveraging real-time vessel data, Wärtsilä’s technology will help detect potential issues early, reduce unplanned downtime, and improve operational efficiency. The 14 LNG carriers, scheduled for delivery between Q3 2025 and Q2 2027, will be equipped with Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engines and Gas Valve Units. The partnership aligns with OPearl LNG Ship Management’s 4C policy, ensuring operational reliability, sustainability, and timely deliveries in a competitive market.
