Wärtsilä To Provide Gas Generators For DSME

1993

Wärtsilä

Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has contracted Wärtsilä to supply combined inert gas generators and gas combustion units for 17 LNG Carrier newbuilds.  The vessels are for owners in Singapore, Greece, South Korea, Cyprus and Canada.

Wärtsilä’s inert gas generators (IGG) and gas combustion units (GCU) with a high throughput capacity of 3,800 kg/h  use boil-off gas as fuel minimises use of MGO and cuts operating costs.

The IGG-GCU units are scheduled to be delivered to the DSME from the third quarter of 2016.

Wärtsilä has the ability to provide an efficient, reliable, and safe solution for these vessels.
