A general cargo ship with 16 crew on board alerted MRCC that the ship was pushed aground by storm at coast of Raigad district south of Mumbai. Second officer said the ship is taking on water, 16 crew are about to abandon the ship.
Indian Coast Guard sent a CG ship and scrambled helicopter, crew were strongly advised to stay on board and wait for rescue. In challenging weather conditions, CG ship’s lifeboat or boats, and helicopter, managed to rescue all crew.
