On August 6, a ship stranded in a river was reportedly moved to a new location for further inspection and repairs.
What happened?
The ship ‘Marie’ became stranded on the river Trent located near Keadby Bridge, North Lincolnshire. The cargo ship had been travelling from Greece to Gunness Wharf Port before it became stranded.
No efforts were taken to move the ship to a new area since the river was dominated by low tides.
Ship tugged:
Since the low tides had passed, the vessel was moved to new location with the help of two tugs.
Paul Simpson, a freelance photographer tweeted about the ship, “The good ship Marie is stranded on low tide on the River Trent near to Scunthorpe. Great views from Keadby Bridge.”
The Keadby bridge was closed for traffic when the stranded cargo vessel was tugged to a new location.
