A fever clinic isolation room, a gym that has room for 500 people to train, and a 45,000-cover dining room – these are just some of the features of the Tokyo Olympics athletes’ village.

The home for thousands of athletes has presented a unique challenge to organisers, who have put in place strict safety measures to combat the risk of infection. But will they work?
