On 28th April, a 71-year old man suffered a kidney failure onboard on the a cruise ship, 51 miles east of the Ocean City and was promptly rescued by a Coast Guard aircrew, the report says.
What happened?
An elderly man suffered a kidney failure while cruising on a cruise ship, 51 miles east of the Ocean City.
Requested Medical Evacuation
After a captain on the Anthem of the Seas cruise ship requested a medical evacuation around 6:20 p.m., an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Atlantic City flew to the scene, the Coast Guard said in a news release.
The Ailing Hospitalised
The man was brought to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City.
“It is imperative to alert the Coast Guard to these emergencies as soon as possible,” Petty Officer 1st Class Charles Reaves said in the release. “In this case, the timely notification allowed our crews to reach the man and deliver him to higher medical care quickly and efficiently.”
